Mistakes/Things to Avoid When Planning a Wedding

Updated: Jan 12, 2021

You may have everything envisioned in your head for how you want your wedding to turn out; but when it comes to actually setting all of those ideas in motion and having everything turn out the way you hope, there are a lot of things that could go wrong that could easily lead to disaster and regret. Whether it’s not planning ahead for any unforeseen events such as weather, making careless budgetary mistakes or waiting until the last minute to pay off certain expenses; there is a lot that can go wrong when planning a wedding that everyone should be mindful of.

Some of the most common oversights come from underestimating the pricing of certain items, all the way down something as simple as postage stamps. You could easily end up with less money for your ceremony than expected by forgetting to factor in tax, shipping and alterations for the dress you buy, for example; and the invitations you send out may get mailed back to you all because you didn’t pay the correct amount for postage stamps.

You could also easily set yourself up for disaster by allowing things to fall out of your hands and staying out of the loop for what your planner (if you have one) and vendors have in store for your wedding. You may end up with a videographer who is only paid to film the ceremony, orvendors that provide food and flowers that your guests may be allergic to.

So even though getting married is something to be excited about, It’s important to stay in the know and plan everything out accordingly; all the way down to the last minute detail. As it will save you a lot of trouble in the long run.
